You might think that living to the ripe old age of 150 might sound just crazy. But I am here to tell you that author Sonia Arrison had done the research and in the very near future having people live to the age of 100 and beyond will be the norm not the exception.

In my interview with Sonia Arrison the author of “100+ How the Coming Age of Longevity Will Change Everything, From Careers and Relationships, To Family and Faith.” We discuss the coming age of longevity and the effects that is will have on our society, relationships, careers and family. The factors that are effecting our ability to live longer, and do it with greater levels of health are the advancements are steeped in advancements in biotechnology and medicine. Sonia states that our researchers are growing human body parts in lavatories and it is becoming more common everyday. With this kind of technology, it will not become uncommon for us to be able to replace our body parts–and live longer more healthy lives.

Arrison states ” Since the myths of the past and present have been exposed, she argues we must follow the critical path forward: if we cannot forget or accept decline, then we must fight it and work to create a future no longer dominated by aging and death. The time has come for death to die.” We are at the cusp of a revolution in medicine and biotechnology that will radically increase not just our life spans but also and more importantly our health spans. That is, we will love longer and with higher quality of life,”

The bigger question we are faced with are not just living longer, but what impacts living longer will have on all aspects of our lives–social programs, economic, family, relationship etc. The impact is really hard to fathom, but Sonia Arrison does a great job in the book of outlining some of these problems and providing the reader with potential solutions and ways to deal with our own longevity.

If you are interested in finding our more about our 100+ life span and the effects that it will have on our family, relationships, social program and economics then Sonia Arrison’s book is a must read. If you want to learn more about the book and the author, please click here to be directed to her website–for a short video introduction click here.

Over this period of time, Dr. Dacher was finding that for many of his patients that the conventional ways of Western medicine were not have a lasting and sustainable healing impact that he would have liked to have had.

Through a series of serendipitous events Dr. Dacher ended up spending over 12 years going back and forth between the US and India studying the aspects of healing and what is termed in the book as “Human Flourishing”. As Dr. Dasher state in the book ” to flourish is to move beyond the stress, dissatisfaction, and suffering that too often limits and diminishes our lives, and reclaim the profound well-being which resides at the center of our being. That is our vision, a vision of human flourishing.

Even though each of our lives has an inner and outer aspect, they are usually unequally developed. In modern times our focus has been on the outer aspects. We have mastered an understanding of biology. We know how to enhance our physical well-being, address physiological disturbances, reduce biological risk factors and promote high levels of physical wellness. As mythologist Joseph Campbell reminds us, “where there was once darkness there is now light”. We once knew very little about our biology, and now we know a great deal. But he also reminds us that, ” Were there was once light there is now darkness” There was a time we had a profound understanding of our inner life. We could describe and traverse, as Plato did, the full development of consciousness from darkness to light, from confusion to wisdom. But in modern times that is no longer the case. We have mastery of the outer world but we have simultaneously lost touch with our inner life. It has become a buried and unseen treasure.

In Elliot’s book ” Aware, Awake, Alive” he provides the reader with a course of practice and study that is 10 weeks in length, along with more advanced material for those who master the basics and want to continue on. This book and workbook provides the student with a complete overview of the journey to human flourishing—vision, path, fruition, and integration. It also includes a CD to help the reader/student establish a stable and effective daily practice.

If you ready to transform your life completely, and have health, happiness and lasting bliss then you just might want to consider reading and studying the content of ” Aware, Awake, Alive” by Dr. Elliott Dacher.

Brendan Brazier a professional Ironman triathlete, bestselling author on performance nutrition, and the creator of an award-winning line of whole food nutritional products called VEGA. He’s a professional Ironman triathlete, bestselling author on performance nutrition, and the creator of an award-winning line of whole food nutritional products called VEGA. He is also a two-time Canadian 50km Ultra Marathon Champion.

Brendan’s professional athletic career began in 1998. Over the course of only a few years, his performance quickly climbed, improving each year in Ironman triathlon racing. At Ironman Canada, in 1999 he finished 21st, the following year he placed 14th, then 11th, followed up by an 8th place finish in 2002 in Ironman Utah. In 2003 and 2006 Brendan won the National 50km Ultra Marathon Championships. Other results include 3rd place at the National Long-Course Triathlon Championships and both 3rd and 2nd in consecutive years in the Royal Victoria Marathon.

Towards the end of 2003 Brendan was hit by a car while cycling, as a result could not race in 2004. He took advantage of the extra time on his hands and wrote a book that outlined the successful diet that had helped him improve his athletic performance at an above-average rate. THRIVE: A guide to optimal health and performance through plant-based whole foods (out of print as of 2007. 30, 000 copies sold – replaced with The Thrive Diet, Penguin, 2007) became a Canadian bestseller within five months. Brendan then partnered with a sport nutrition company and produced a commercial replica of his blended drink formula that he had been making for himself for 15 years, one of the reasons for his quick improvements. He called it VEGA. VEGA launched in Canada in late 2004 and became one of the bestselling health food products on the Canadian market. It received the prestigious Nutrition Business Journal merit award. Presented for the first time ever to a product not yet on the US market, VEGA became known in the United States. In 2005 Brendan then launched his 100% raw whole food energy bar, again a commercial replica of what he made to support his intense training. Now in over 1200 Canadian health food stores, VEGA launched in the US in March of 2006, winning the “best in show” award from VegNews Magazine

Nominated in 2006 for the Manning Innovation Award, Canada’s most prestigious award for innovation, Brendan was shortlisted for the formulation of Vega. In 2006, Brendan also was invited to address US Congress on Capitol Hill, where he spoke of the significant social and economic benefits that could be achieved by improving personal health through better diet. The focus of his speech was to draw attention to the role that food plays in the prevention of most chronic diseases currently plaguing North Americans.

In 2007 Brendan returned to Capital Hill to lobby against the Farm Bill and was named one of the most 25 Fascinating Vegetarians by VegNews magazine

Brendan has become a renowned speaker and sought-after presenter throughout North America, helping individuals and businesses thrive by sharing his dietary stress-busting program, The Thrive Diet. Brendan new book entitled released by Penguin Books September 2011″Thrive Foods: 200 Plant Based Recipes for Peak Health” is his newest book, and it focused on the foods we eat and how they impact our environment.

In Brendan’s new book “Thrive Foods: 200 Plant Based Recipes for Peak Health” Brendan lays out the importance of a plant based diet, and gives the reader great recipes that are nutrient-dense and which have a very low impact on our overall environment. In my interview with Brendan we speak about what he calls “Nutrient-to-Resource Ratio”. Brendan refers to this ratio as a proactive form of health insurance and environmental preservation rolled into one. This ratio reveals the extensive amount of arable land, water, and fossil fuel consumed to produce food, as well as taking into consideration carbon emissions created.

Brendan states that the average American could have a greater impact on the on the environment by switching to the eating suggestions in the book. That is one person swapped out a Standard American breakfast for a plant-based, nutrient-dense whole food smoothie for one year, it would conserve the same amount of C02 emissions as created by driving a mid-size car from Vancouver to Tijuana, Mexico. If everyone stopped eating factory farmed beef for one year, it would conserve the equivalent of c02 emissions as over 2 trillion miles being driven in a mid-size car.

Needless to say if we as consumers would think about our choices in food consumption we could have a significant impact on the worlds environment. A diet based in nutrient-dense, plant based foods not only improves our health but it has a positive impact on our environment.

Brendan’s book is loaded with great recipes that are good and easy to make. So if you want to improve your diet, loose weight, and help the environment then I highly recommend that you get a copy of Brendan’s new book. If you would like to learn more about Brendan Brazier please click here to be directed to his website. He also has a company called Vega that produces plant based products, you can learn more about Vega by clicking here.

Enjoy this great interview with truly a man on a mission to save our environment, as well as increase the life span of millions of people.

I personally have been working with author and coach Heidi Hanna PhD over the last three months. Her new book entitled “SHARP: Simple Strategies to Boost Your Brainpower” is a must read for all my listeners. If you have ever wondered what are some of the things that you could be doing to assist you in having more energy, improve your focus and mental clarity then Heidi new book is the place to start.

We are all leading very busy lives, with more stimulation coming at us from every direction..cell phones, emails, instant “ON” almost all the time. Do you ever wonder what all of this is doing to our brains? Are you beginning to forget or you memory doesn’t seem as SHARP. Heidi speaks about these problems and provides practical advice on dealing with these issues.

In her book “SHARP: Simple Strategies to Boost Your Brainpower” readers will: 1) Understand how the demands on your time and energy impact your mental capacity, and learn critical components of brain health that provide a foundation for improved cognitive functioning. 2) How to utilize the power of brain training to stimulate mental energy with exercises that improve learning in areas that have the most impact on performance. 3) How to create an actionable plan for implementing a sustainable brain health training program that can be applied to your everyday life.

Our constant state of busyness has created a chronic level of stress on our brain–so toxic, in fact that experts believe more than 75% of medical visits are stress related. Heidi states that honestly most of us are too busy to notice, and will not realize the devastating impact of stress on our lives until it takes a serious toll on our health, happiness and performance. Stress is literally making us sicker.

In Heidi’s new book “SHARP: Simple Strategies to Boost Your Brainpower” you will be guided and coached on the proper steps to take to reduce stress, eat healthier and techniques to improve your brains function. I don’t know about you but my brain is of utmost importance to the proper functioning of my job, and I believe that this is the case with almost all workers in society today. But just how often do you think about the fitness of your brain—you take it for granted don’t you? If you listen to, and read what Heidi has been teaching and coaching top executives for years you will really alter many of your current habits that are effecting the functioning of your brain.
