Andrew Holecek has been traveling the spiritual path his entire adult life and for the past twenty years has been a practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism. He has completed the traditional three-year meditation retreat, writes a regular column on death and dying for Bodhi Magazine, and has published numerous articles in the Shambhala Sun, Bodhi Magazine, Light of Consciousness, Utne Reader, Elephant, and other periodicals.
Andrew is the founder of the Forum of Living and Dying and teaches seminars internationally on spiritual hardship and the Tibetan views of life, death, and beyond. These seminars are based on his book “The Power and the Pain; Transforming Spiritual Hardship into Joy,” and his forthcoming book, “Prepare to Die; A Spiritual and Practical Guide for what to do Before, During, and After Death.” Dr. Holecek is also the co-founder of the Global Dental Relief Project, which serves impoverished children in India, Nepal, Vietnam, and Guatemala. He has degrees in classical music, degree work in physics, and a doctorate in dental surgery.
